When her grandfather mysteriously drowns in the lake behind his cottage home, Claire is determined to find answers. What she discovers is that there may be some truth in the fantastical... and what she seeks may be lurking in the water.
Winner of the Danny Elfman Project: Rabbit & Rogue for its use of the composition Gamelan, Lakesong premiered at the 2017 LA Film Festival to the applauds of a packed house which included industry alum such as Gus Van Sant and Danny Elfman himself. Lakesong went on to screen around the world at festivals such as the Oscar-Recognized 2018 Foyle Film Festival and the 2018 Hamilton Film Festival.
Shot entirely in one weekend, Lakesong is the product of lovingly hand-crafted production design from an original children's book, the tactile sea shells, and a painting that evolved throughout the weekend to help tell the love story between a mermaid and a sailor lost at sea.
