One Cream, One Sugar
Life-long friends Cynthia and Morrigan catch up over their daily ritual of morning coffee, and discuss what it means to move on.
As Cynthia takes her first sip of morning coffee, Morrigan shows up to tease her friend over being so dower. By discussing relationships, careers, chances taken, and their life-long friendship, Morrigan helps Cynthia grieve.
With the aid of funding via CSARN, and the support of ACTRA; this concept short was a collaboration between the filmmakers and seasoned actors Sheila McCarthy and Deborah Grover. Shot in less than six hours on a chilly November afternoon, the filmmakers flexed their creative muscles via logistical constraints. Using daylight as the primary lighting source, and through the slow tightening of camera angles to become more intimate as the somber story progresses; One Cream, One Sugar was a successful experiment of minimal time and space.
